What you can do
Monitoring performance
Help us keep a close eye on service delivery: Ox Rail Action is closely monitoring the performance of peak-time services – and we’re doing it as scientifically as we can. We want you to keep an accurate log of the trains you use, noting down:
- Delays to departure times
- Overall journey times
- Reasons given for delays
It won’t take more than a minute to complete for each journey but the information you gather will be invaluable. We plan to put together quarterly reports based on your information and will share these reports with First Great Western, politicians and the media.
We know the service is bad – and we want to have the statistical data to prove it.
To join us in monitoring your trains, download the table on this site and keep a daily log; then every time you complete a sheet, send it to the Ox Rail Action email address at saveourtrains@googlemail.com
Other ways to get involved include:
· Being media spokespeople – we need people to be available to talk to the media at short notice
· Attending consultation meetings with First Great Western
· Report writing – we will put together a report on the performance of services on a quarterly basis
· Writing for the website – and taking pictures/short videos to use online – send all entries to saveourtrains@googlemail.com
· Writing to First Great Western whenever services are not up to scratch – write direct to Andrew Haines, at andrew.haines@firstgroup.com
· Liaison with other passenger groups, MPs, the city council
Anyone who would like to get more involved should drop us a line at our email address saveourtrains@googlemail.com
